Before you connect

Micromixer requires iOS 17 or later. Live operation needs compatible external equipment and a network route from the iPhone to that equipment. Try the clearly labeled offline demo from the welcome screen or Settings to practice mixer and output controls. Its generated picture is simulated, and no equipment commands are sent.

ATEM controls are disabled

Check the ATEM address, the selected M/E, and local-network access for Micromixer in iPhone Settings. Wait for the switcher’s current state to arrive. The direct-Program lock disables direct Program buttons while leaving Preview, Cut and Auto available.

Use direct ATEM control on a trusted local network. For VPN or cellular operation, use the optional control bridge on the ATEM’s network with its address, access key and certificate fingerprint. Micromixer does not supply a VPN service.

There is no monitor picture

ATEM control and SRT video connect independently. Match Listener/Caller mode, port and any encryption passphrase at both ends. For Listener mode, start Micromixer’s connection before the sender. For Caller mode, check the sender address and any required stream ID. Start with H.264 video and AAC audio at 720p or 1080p, with 200 ms latency.

The LIVE indicator requires decoded video, not just a transport connection. The displayed picture is whatever your sender is encoding. Feed an ATEM multiview to your sender for a combined view, or Program for the main output. Video is delayed relative to switcher commands.

Recording or streaming is unconfirmed

Saved HyperDecks and Web Presenters connect directly over your LAN or VPN, independently of the ATEM control bridge. Enable HyperDeck remote control and prepare its recording media. Configure the Web Presenter’s streaming destination using its normal software before using Go Live.

The app waits for device status to confirm recording or streaming. If a reply is lost or a command times out, check the actual device before trying again. Micromixer uses the device’s existing recording format, media and streaming destination.

Stopping and disconnecting

Stop asks you to confirm the selected device. Stopping the Web Presenter that supplies the monitor also stops that picture. Disconnecting, removing a saved device or closing Micromixer leaves external recordings and streams running. App connections close in the background and reconnect on return when connection mode is active.

Saved device limit

You can save up to 16 HyperDecks or Web Presenters. Edit or remove an existing entry to make room for another device.

Micromixer is independent software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blackmagic Design. Equipment model, firmware and network configuration affect available features. Verify the controls you intend to use during a safe test session before a live production.
