Start with the demo, then connect your switcher and video. ATEM control and SRT monitoring are independent connections.

1. Get to know the controls

Micromixer requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later. On first launch, choose Try the controls in demo mode. Demo uses a generated test pattern and sends no equipment commands. Try Preview, Cut, Auto, and the direct-Program lock before connecting to a switcher.

2. Connect your ATEM

On the local network: connect your phone to Wi-Fi that can reach the ATEM. Open Settings, leave Use control bridge off, enter the ATEM’s IPv4 address and select the intended M/E. Allow Local Network access when iOS asks, then tap Connect.

Over VPN or cellular: run Micromixer Bridge on an always-on computer beside the ATEM. Connect your phone to a VPN that reaches that computer, then enter the bridge address, access key and certificate fingerprint in Settings. Micromixer does not provide a VPN service.

Wait for the ATEM to connect and source names to appear. Assign the eight source buttons to the sources you use. The number of available M/Es and outputs depends on your switcher.

3. Bring in a picture

You need a separate SRT sender, such as a compatible Web Presenter. Feed it the ATEM’s Program output for a full-screen Program picture, or a multiview output to see several views. The bridge carries control only; it does not send or relay video.

1. Start with H.264 video and AAC audio at 720p or 1080p.
2. For an SRT sender in Caller mode, set Micromixer to Listener, port 9000, and latency 200 ms as a starting point. Start the app connection first, then configure the sender to reach your phone’s address and port over the LAN or VPN.
3. If the sender or relay listens instead, use Caller in Micromixer and enter its address, port and any required stream ID.
4. If you enable SRT encryption, use the same passphrase at both ends. Micromixer stores its passphrase in Keychain.
5. Look for SRT LIVE. That indicator requires decoded video, not just a transport connection.

Carrier networks generally cannot accept a direct incoming connection to a phone. Use your VPN’s reachable address or an appropriate SRT relay. The video picture has delay relative to switcher control; 200 ms is a recovery-buffer starting point, not a promise of total delay.

4. Run a safe first test

• Preview chooses the next source. Cut switches immediately. Auto uses the ATEM’s existing transition settings.
• Program switches directly to air when unlocked. Keep the lock on until you intend to use it.
• Output chooses an auxiliary output to control. Choosing an output does not reroute it; tapping a source does.
• Recording & Live manages separately configured HyperDecks and Web Presenters. Prepare recording media, remote control and streaming destinations on the equipment first. These devices connect directly over LAN or VPN, independently of the bridge.

Keep Micromixer in the foreground while operating. Disconnecting or closing the app leaves external recordings and streams running. Stop asks for confirmation; always check actual equipment if a command’s result is uncertain.
